Date for the return to football according to La Liga
La Liga president, Javier Tebas, said in an interview on ‘Vamos’ the date when he thinks an official match will be played again. It will be in the middle of June if all the deadlines and phases are met.
Football in Spain is starting to see the light. The Spanish prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, explained the phases that Spain will go through until the new normality is reached. In them, the return to training for federated athletes was introduced.
Clubs will now be able to return to work individually on 4th May, the date which corresponds to phase 0 by the government. In phase 1 (11th May) group training will be introduced and in phase 2 (26th May), the time to exercise normally will come.
If all the deadlines are met and the evolution of the pandemic continues to improve, the season will be reactivated in June in Spain, although with the matches always behind closed doors. Javier Tebas announced it in an interview on ‘Vamos’.

“We don’t have to run, but I hope that by mid-June La Liga can return. At least we will be able to finish the competition, which is something very important,” he said during his speech in the special show because of the sad death of Michael Robinson.
‘El Partidazo de COPE’ was a little more specific, indicating that matches will be officially played between 7th and 14th June, and that there will not be matches every other day.
Tebas wanted to thank Pedro Sánchez for his consideration and understanding, moving away from the decision they have taken in France to cancel all competitions.
“We have started with the bad news from France and we are grateful that Pedro Sánchez has taken into account professional football in the phases of the easing of lockdown measures. We have until 28 June to resume the competition,” he said.
