It’s our pleasure to bring to you, a man with Visions who has the capacity to serve his people.
Our Media Men, in quest to satsify our people letting them know about the Patriotic citizen who still remains in their midst.
We had an opportunity to have an interactive session with the man, the Ede North Chairmanship aspirant.
Who is he? Follow our Media men through the Question and Answer session with our able Honourable.
Q: Good morning sir! It’s our pleasure meeting you, from Gist Hint Media House, can we meet you?
A: I’m Adewumi, Luqman Abiola, From Ishola’s Compound, Buhari-Ishola/Isibo Ward 08, Ede-North local Government of Osun State.
Q: Sir! Can you kindly take us back to your family and educational background?
A: I’m a son of Alh. Abdul-Kareem Adewumi (a retired Principal) and Mrs Mulikat Adewumi(a Business Woman), of Ishola’s Compound, Ede.
I first enrolled at Madrasat of Baba Ogoro in early 80’s for Islamic Education and later left for Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government area of Osun state for Western Education when my father was redeployed to the Local Government in 1984, to be specific.
I obtained my Primary school certificate at Nawair-ud-Deen Primary school, Isale Agunjin, Ikirun and proceeded to Africa Church Grammar school, Oke-Amola, Ikirun to obtain my Secondary School Certificate after which I completed my post-primary education at Ansar-Ud-Deen Society Grammar School, Erin-Osun, Irepodun Local Government area of Osun State, where I served as the Senior Prefect of the school.
I left Erin-Osun for Ile-Ife, for tertiary Education in year 2001 and I graduated as an Animal Sciencist in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, in year 2008.
Q: Sir! it is not a rumor,or let me say it’s a known fact that u’re a Politician, right?
A: To the Glory of God, Yes!
Q: So, if we may know, Why did you join Politics?
A: Of course ,you know I’m from Ede, and politics is in blood of average Ede man.
My late Grandpa(Alh. Buhari Bello) was a grassroot politician and my father too, so I developed interest fully to be a politician in year 2002 and we have been participating actively since then.
Q: Sir! We could see you didn’t make mention of where you observed your NYSC earlier, hope you didn’t also skip it sir, as we’ve been seen rampant in our Politians nowadays? Smiles….
A: Smile!
To the Glory of God, I observed the one-year national service at Rufa’i Holdings Nigeria Limited, Talata/Mafara, Zamfara State, Nigeria. The company is own by Fmr. Governor of Zamfara State and Fmr. Senator of FRN, Alh. Ahmad Rufai(a.k.a Yerima), the prince of Bakura, Bakura Local Government of Zamfara State. Mr Gowan Attah was my Manager then, I served there as supervisor and I’m glad to inform you that I’m still in touch with my Manager then(Mr. Gowon Attah) till today.
Q: With what we’ve heard and seen across, it ascertains you are a member of All Progressive Congress (APC), right?
And, did you start with this party or you once in a party before this time?
A: Yes, I’m a bonafide member of APC.
But, I was formerly a member of PDP. At a point in time, center could no more hold in PDP and abnormalities became the order of the day and we were frustrated, we were left with no other option than to move out of that party then and I formerly resigned my membership in August 2018.
We contributed our own quota to the victory of APC in 2018 Governorship election and 2019 general elections. I personally made vest with Gov. Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola’s picture and distributed it widely as part of my contribution to the Governorship election then and I repeated the same in 2019 general elections too.
Q: So, which position are you aspiring for presently?
A: I am an Aspirant of Ede-North Local Government Chairman in the Forthcoming LG election.
Q:Hmmmm, sir! Why did you choose aspiring for this post?
A: Honestly, it based on my Love for my town.
You see while I was at Erin-Osun, people of Erin-Osun love me so much and they granted me a waiver to be one of the Federation of Erin-Osun Students Union(FESA member then), but my Dad called me to order immediately and advise me on the need to go back home and develop my Community(Edeland). I find this so difficult then, but I pick interest in it. That was what prompt me to joined five others to revive Federation of Edeland Students’ Union(FELSU, OAU Chapter) in year 2002. Others are Dr. Adeleke Lukman( C.E.O Lifeline Hospital, Ede), Late (Arch.) Sesan Adisa of Akoda’s Compound, Dr. Jimoh Muhali Olaide Adekilekun of Imole’s Compound, Valuer Kamorudeen Lawal of Ishola’s Compound and Mr Lasisi Wasiu(a.k.a Agba)
Though, the chapter appointed me then to be the FELSU OAU Chapter General Secretary in that year, 2002. They noticed my performance as the General secretary and they insisted that they are sending me down to National Body of FELSU to go and do some reforms, and they supported me to became the Federation of Edeland Students’ Union, National body General Secretary in year 2005/2006 and my contributions to the development of not Only FELSU National Body but also Edeland as a whole made the FELSU National body(the entire Students of Edeland in Nigeria) to unanimously vote me to become Federation of Edeland Students’ Union, National President in year 2006/2007.
Yes, we made a lot of reforms then that many people believe it is not possible. Part of the reforms include; the use of Electoral College of ten delegates per school to elect FELSU National Body Leadership, instead of using Non-indigines to elect FELSU Leadership that some schools engaged in then and conversation of Senate house to house of representatives, where two representatives will representative each chapter and chapter president must be one of the two representatives, so, we now have speaker instead of Senate President. This will enable them to give the feed back of happenings in national body of their various chapters, and any chapter that refused to participate will not have opportunity to elect FELSU National Body Leadership, because they may not know what is good for the Union or The Best Person to Lead since they don’t participate. Those and other reforms really help the Union not in small way and it is in use till today.
So, I asked myself, where exactly can good people of Edeland feel my impact, and which office can be used to make a difference, and the answer pointed to Ede-North Local Government Chairman because of the closeness of this arm of Government to the grassroot, hence this gesture!
Q: Sir! What are your plans, goals, agendas and objectives if elected?
A: Thank you.
I’m well prepared for this office, I have blueprint and my blueprint contain Five Main Cardinal points, which includes but not limited to;
– Security.
– Ravamp Agriculture.
– Social Infrastructure.
– Re-Engineering Education.
– Youth Empowerment and Social Investment Program(SIP).
I will start discussing it one after the others on my pages as from next week by God’s Grace.. for now, further discussion is not allowed, according to my Campaign team.
I Thank sir’s!
Q: What do you have for people of Ede, Osun and Nigeria as a whole?
A: To the good people of Edeland, Change may not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the CHANGE we seek. Do not hesitate to give us your support in the forthcoming election to become the Ede-North local government Chairman, we won’t betray your trust by God’s Grace… I will do all things, but if there is Only one thing I know I won’t do, I will not fail, if elected!
To good people of Osun State, let’s continue to support the people’s Governor, Governor Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, and our party, APC, for him to succeed in office and we should throw our support behind him for his second term ambition too… Oyetola till 2026 by God’s Grace.
God bless Edeland,
God bless Osun State,
God bless FRN. Amen.
Q: ….. your words of appreciation, to your friends, family and your people.
A: Honestly, I don’t know how to thank them, they are my pillars and their support has been keeping me going. They gave my Dad support in 2010 to become Ede-North LG chairman but the Coming of Gov. Aregbesola changed the lane completely then. They also supported me in 2018/2019 to become Osun State House of Assembly Member and we later surrendered to the party supremacy, still they don’t relent.
May Almighty God reward all of them in multiple folds for their kind gesture on my household at all time. Amen.
It’s really an interesting and wonderful session with our man, Hon. Adewumi Lukman Abiola, an aspirant, Ede North Local Govt in this forthcoming election.
Vote for a man with Vision

Ede North 2020… Adewumi is Okay for us.
